At NAKODA Energy Services, Indigenous engagement is a practice grounded in trust, respect, and shared purpose.
Our name, Nakoda, means ally—and that’s exactly how we show up.
Being an ally means choosing action over intention—listening first, learning continuously, and standing by the people and communities we partner with. We commit to honouring their voices, respecting their traditions, and creating shared value in every initiative.
Recognize & Respect – We honour Indigenous rights, culture, and deep ties to land and water.
Listen & Learn – Engagement begins early and continues through open, honest dialogue.
Measure & Report – We set clear goals and remain accountable and transparent.
As a Treaty 8 signatory, West Moberly retains constitutionally protected rights to hunt, fish and trap across a vast Peace-Athabasca territory, and the Nation is an active member of the Treaty 8 Tribal Association.
As a Treaty 6 signatory, Alexander First Nation continues to assert and implement its treaty rights in governance, economic development and resource-management negotiations.
For this WPCA race season we have partnered with Chanse Vigen, World Champion chuckwagon driver to support his team.
This season, WPCA will see two horses celebrated by NAKODA Energy Services and our partnership with Alexander First Nation and West Moberly First Nation.
